Contained in the pages whose links are to the left are essays
on some of my most memorable skating experiences. Some of
these are light, some informative, and some are... moving. ;-)
Here's a summary of what you'll find:
- '95 SF to S Cruz
This was my first attempt to skate from The Golden Gate
Bridge to Santa Cruz -- 97 miles. Find out how I fared!
- '96 SF to S Cruz
This was my second attempt to skate from The Golden Gate
Bridge to Santa Cruz. This was an experience that showed
me what I was made of. Many people have commented that they
like this essay a lot.
- Napa to Calistoga
This event was great fun and my only real attempt at racing.
It is still held oneor more times each year by
CORA.
- Dom Violence Skate
This is an essay on the Skate Against Domestic Violence, where
17 women skated from San Francisco to San Diego, over 700 miles!
You simply will not believe what these women went through!
Many people have commented that they like this essay most of all.
- '97 Swap Meet
This is an information page about the 1997 SFSkaters Swap
Meet. I run one swap meet each year as part of my service
to the San Francisco skating scene. Mainly, I run the
SFSkaters web site and
mailing list.
- '98 Swap Meet
This is an information page about the 1998 SFSkaters Swap
Meet. Hard times in the skating industry made this a smaller
event from a sponsorship perspective, but many people got
fantastic deals and lots of door prizes were given away.
- '98 MLS
This is an essay about my experience travelling to the
1998 Major League Soccer Championships to demonstrate
Roller Soccer with 11 other people. It was a blast!
I got to play Roller Soccer with a US soccer star!
- Skating Yosemite
I took my skates to Yosemite and had a wonderful time skating
on the Bike Paths and shuttle bus roads. There is actually
a whole web site dedicated to skating in Yosemite, including
information on lodging, where to skate, and much more. There
is also a photo tour of the skating route. It's been a
consistantly popular web site for years now. Check it out!
